I've spent the last 7+ years writing backend systems, most of it in Laravel. Day to day that means building multi-tenant platforms, wiring up payment gateways — Stripe, Authorize.net, PayFast and a few others — and making sure a failed subscription charge doesn't quietly turn into an angry email three weeks later.

I care more about the boring parts than the exciting parts: clean migrations, services that do one thing, config over hardcoding, and systems that fail loudly instead of silently. If something breaks at 2am, I want the logs to tell me why before a customer does.
